Editorial Policy & Standards

How we research, write, review and fund TradeLearn — and the standards every page is held to.

Who we are

TradeLearn is a free trading and investing education resource for UK readers, published by NexoraOS Ltd. Our goal is simple: explain how markets, instruments and strategies actually work in plain English, with a realistic emphasis on risk — the opposite of the hype that fills much of this space. Everything on the site is free to read.

Education, not financial advice

Nothing on TradeLearn is personal financial advice or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any investment. We explain concepts, terminology, strategies and tools so you can make better-informed decisions of your own. We are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority to give advice, and we do not provide it. If you need advice tailored to your circumstances, speak to an FCA-authorised adviser.

How we research and write

Our content is written by experienced finance and education writers and draws on primary, reputable sources: FCA guidance and rules, exchange and regulator documentation, HMRC guidance for tax topics, and established reference texts. We prioritise accuracy over speed. Where a figure, rule or tax band can change, we say so and point readers to the official source for the current position.

  • We explain both the potential and the risks of any approach — never one without the other.
  • We avoid get-rich-quick framing, guaranteed-returns language and unrealistic examples.
  • UK-specific rules (ISAs, capital gains, stamp duty, FSCS protection) are written for a UK audience, not copied from US sources.
  • Complex or higher-risk topics (CFDs, leverage, options, crypto) carry clear risk context.

Accuracy and updates

Markets, products and tax rules change. We review key guides periodically and after significant regulatory or tax changes, and we correct errors promptly when they are found. If you spot something that looks wrong or out of date, please tell us — we genuinely want to fix it.

How TradeLearn is funded

To keep the site free, we may earn a commission when readers open an account with some of the brokers or platforms we link to, and we may show advertising. This never changes what we write or which concepts we cover, and it never costs you anything extra. We only mention services we consider relevant to readers, and any such links are clearly marked. Full details are on our disclosure page.

Risk warning

Trading and investing involve significant risk of loss. The value of investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you put in. A high proportion of retail investor accounts lose money when trading leveraged products such as CFDs. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose, and make sure you understand a product fully before using it.
